Saturn Moon: Atlas!

This image of Atlas was acquired by the Voyager 1 spacecraft on November 12, 1980.

Atlas is the second satellite of Saturn. It orbits around the outermost area of the A-ring and is 40 by 20 kilometers in size. Atlas is probably a shepherd satellite for the A-ring and was discovered by R. Terrile in 1980 through analyzing photos of the Voyager.
